Find Haste In a Trademark Lawyer, They Want To Help!!

trademark lawyer
How many times has a pharmacist offered you a substitute for a drug that your doctor had prescribed? The name of the drug may not be the same, but there is certainly a sense of familiarity. The scale of these incidents can be gauged from the fact that at least a third of the total trademark applications facing opposition in trademark offices are from the pharmacy sector. The trademark is important for the drug industry because consumers know the drug by its trademark.

Incidents like these are what keep trademark lawyers working. Trademark infringement and copyright laws are on the rise. And the demand for trademark lawyers is increasing each year. When people enter law school, they must decide what type of law they want to focus their practice on upon completion. When thinking of a brand of law, trademarks are not that bad of a choice.

When it comes to pharmacies, there are hundreds of instances where a company's plea to register a trademark for its drug is being opposed by a rival drug firm. Past trends show that most applicants facing opposition finally lose the case. The main problem is that some drug companies are deliberately trying to mislead consumers. Lawmakers are trying to change this, but it could take a significant amount of time to make progress on this.

Qualcomm Criminal Defense Lawyers

criminal defense lawyer
The 14 California lawyers who face sanctions after a federal judge detailed their "exceptional misconduct" on behalf of Qualcomm have run into an extremely sticky problem in their efforts to explain what happened.
Lawyers representing them argued in papers this week that they cannot providethe fullest possible explanation because Qualcomm continues to assert its attorney-client privliges.

As a result of this, lawyers for the Qualcomm 14 have asked a federal judge to issue a rare exemption that would let the lawyers who once represented Qualcomm violate the privlege so they can speak in their own defense.
This is very rare in the state of law and the judge was given time to think of his decision. Client-attorney privilege is upheld to the fullest extent. We will have to keep our eyes on this situation developing out in San Diego.

Business Lawyer, Bush Fundraiser, Named to UN

business lawyer

A Southfield business lawyer specializing in complex litigation who has helped raise money for President George W. Bush and other Republicans was nominated today as a U.S. delegate to the United Nations General Assembly.

Rodger D. Young stated he was contacted last week and told of the posting. He will be one of 5 delegates to serve in the General Assembly beginning next week and lasting into December.

The General Assembly is expected to address on global warming, economic development and disarmament, as well as deal with policies in the Middle East and elsewhere.

"I think it's an extremely interesting time to be doing it because the General Assembly will be dealing with those issues," Young said.

In the last decade, Young has been a major fund-raiser for Republican causes. In the 2000 and 2004 campaigns, he was a Bush pioneer, meaning he helped raise at least a hundred thousand dollars.

Corporate Lawyers Spoofed by Coca Cola

In 2006, lawyer Michael J. Kline told 2 brand managers for Coca-Cola Classic that they could sue their company's calorie-free soda brand, Coca-Cola Zero, for "taste infringement."

In the ad, Kline and in-house lawyers Elizabeth Finn Johnson and James M. Koelemay Jr., as well as Dalton, Ga., attorney Robert A. Cowan react with varying degrees of laughter, disbelief and, in Johnson's case, incredulous outrage at suing Coca Cola.

"You don't have valid claim!" Johnson shouts at one point.

What they did not know at the time was that the Coca Cola brand managers were really improvisational actors Bob Beuth and Bill Glass of Los Angeles, that they were being filmed and that this was all part of a marketing campaign to promote Coke Zero.

"To be quite honest with you, these guys came across as very legitimate," Kline says, recalling that the actors wore company ID badges. Though he later got suspicious, he says, "They were pretty good at selling a ludicrous proposition."
